What is an Eye Emergency?
As pet owners, we want our animals to be happy and healthy. With this, it can be hard to determine what is considered an eye emergency and what can wait. Here are a few examples of concerns that should be seen as soon as possible:
- A deep divot or defect on the surface of the eye
- Increasing yellow-green discharge
- The eye appears to be bulging
- Sudden loss of vision
- Dilated pupils
- A sudden increase in squinting
- Rubbing or pawing at the eye
- Increased redness for conditions other than a previously diagnosed healing ulcer
- Increased cloudiness (blueness) for conditions other than a previously diagnosed healing ulcer
